UNFPA Palembang

UNFPA, The United Nations Population Fund, is an international development agency that promote the right of every woman, man, and child to enjoy a life of health and equal opportunity, UNFPA support countries in using population data for policies and programmers to reduce poverty and to ensure that every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe, every young person is free HIV/AIDS and every girls and woman is treated with dignity and respect.

Our partners in South Sumatera: Bappeda, Dinkes, Diknas, Biro Pemb. Perempuan, BKKBN, BPS, AIDS Commissions, IFPPD (Indonesian Forum Parliamentarian for Population and Development), WCC (Women Crisis Centre).

Some activities that have been conducted during 7th cycle (2006 – 2010) in South Sumatera are

  1. Support for the establishment of Reproductive Health Local regulation
  2. Talk Show; in related with Reproductive Health and Domestic Violence Issues
  3. Capacity Building through Workshop, Seminar and Training for Health Provider, Community and Religious Leader, Executive and Parliament Members, regarding the Reproductive Health and Gender Based Violence issues
  4. Capacity Building for executive on Gender Responsive Budgeting
  5. Support for selected Puskesmas in OKI District for availability of Integrated Reproductive Health Services.
