In terms of information technology, Regional Library has been using computerized systems to serve the “borrow-and-return books” activities with barcode system. So each member, especially the new ones, now equipped with an online ATM-like card with its membership ID and password. The online card users only need to grind the card to the existing tools to enter the library, do borrowing transactions and / or returning books. South Sumatra Regional Library facilities include a “Free Hotspot Area with no limit, no register and no cash” that become one of the main reasons for many visitors to come to the Library.

South Sumatra Regional Library Service schedule are open from Monday to Friday at 08.00 – 15.30 WIB, on Saturday, at 08.30 – 15.00 WIB, and having break time on Friday at 11:00 to 13:30 pm.

Members can borrow 3 books maximum in a week and can be extended as much as 3 times. A late return will be subject to a fine of Rp 200, – per book / day. Recently, this Library owned about 168 thousand titles with 8,000 members consisting of 4,000 ordinary card users and 4,000 online cards users.

TVRI broadcasted for the first time with a live show of the ASIAN Games IV opening ceremony at Gelora Bung Karno stadium. Today, TVRI has 27 regional stations and one central station supported by 376 transmission units which spread all across Indonesia. One of them is South Sumatra TVRI station located in Palembang.

Since its founding on 24th of August 1962, TVRI has changed status from Television Directorate under the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Indonesia in 1974, the Company Division (Corporate Governance) in 2000 and PT (Persero, Limited Company) in 2002 in accordance with Law No. 32 of 2002 and coincided with its 44th anniversary (August 24,2006), TVRI officially became Public Broadcasting Institution. Through this PT (Persero) status, the Government expect the TVRI Directors to make improvements in the field of Management, Organizational Structure, Human Resources and Finance. So, TVRI Board of Directors have been made consolidation, through restructuring, improvements in Marketing and Programming due to the attitude of employees and almost all events on TVRI are still refers to ‘Corporate Governance style’ status which has less selling value.
